Due to the site’s regulation under the Control of major accident hazards (COMAH) this was a lengthy process. However, the Environment Agency approved the solution which includes our specialist fire retardant geotextile which could now be considered industry standard for spill containment on a COMAH site. Work on both projects is expected to commence in May 2012.

Geosynthetics have been installed to over half of the sixteen basins and we are delighted that the basins independently leak tested passed with no problems. The balloon, made from 2mm HDPE geomembrane, measured over 4m in length and had a diameter of 2.5m.
